Below are the outlined rules and regulations of Galveston Yacht Club membership.
I
General
The Club offers full dining and bar service in a gracious atmosphere for both lunch and dinner. Private rooms are available for parties and meetings. The Club is adjacent to the 3 rd largest marina on the Texas Gulf Coast . Other amenities include a 25 meter swimming pool with an adjacent children's pool, tennis courts and spacious grounds.
 
II
Membership
For purposes of these rules and regulations, each Family Membership shall be counted as one member and each nominee of a Corporate Membership shall be counted as one member. Membership shall not be transferable nor shall a member be entitled to a refund of his/her initiation fee in the event his/her membership is terminated for any reason.
A. Class of Membership. The membership of the Club shall consist of three classes: Family, Junior and Corporate.
1. Family Membership. Any person over thirty-five years of age may apply for a Family membership. A member's family shall include his/her spouse, minor children and those unmarried adult children who are members of his/her immediate household and who have not attained the age of 25 years. Each such family member shall be entitled to full use of the Club facilities. Upon the death of a family member in whose name the Family Membership was issued, his/her surviving spouse or one adult child may, at his/her option continue the Family Membership by the payment of dues.

Junior Membership is open to any person under thirty-five years of age. A Junior member receives all of the benefits of a Family Membership, but pays no initiation fee and half priced dues. When a Junior Member reaches their thirty-fifth birthday, their membership transfers to a Family Membership and they pay full monthly dues.

2. Corporate Membership. Any reputable business, firm or corporation may apply for Corporate Membership in the name of its designated nominees. Each business, firm or corporation granted a Corporate Membership shall be entitled to nominate not more than twenty (20) individuals who may use such Membership, each one of whom shall pay the dues hereinafter provided. A nominee of a Corporate Membership who terminates his/her relationship with a Corporate Member may, at his/her option, continue his/her membership in the Club by purchasing a Family Membership at the current initiation fee.

Furthermore, upon the death of a nominee of a Corporate Membership, it becomes the obligation of the Corporate to decide whether to continue the membership in the name of the surviving spouse. If the membership is terminated by the Corporation, the surviving spouse may, at his/her option continue the membership in the club by purchasing a Family membership at the current initiation fee and with payment of dues at a rate set from time to time by the Club. It shall be the duty of the Corporate Member to advise the Club, in writing of any applications, changes or resignations of its nominees. Further no application or resignation from a nominee of a Corporate Member shall be considered without written notification from the Corporate Member.

B. Application for Membership. Membership in the Club will not be denied any person because of race, color, national origin, religion or creed.
1. Application or nomination for membership in the Club shall be made on forms provided by the Club.
2. Notice of Acceptance. Upon acceptance of an application the candidate shall pay the initiation fee and then receive a Membership Card. A copy of the House Rules and Regulations is available on the Club's website.
3. Resignation. Resignation from membership in the Club must be in writing. A resignation shall become effective upon the payment in full of all dues and other obligations owing by the member or nominee to the Club. No dues shall accrue or become owing with respect to any membership after the effective date of the member or nominee's resignation. If after a time the former member should wish to reinstate his/her membership, there is a $250 reinstatement fee to be again put on the active list. At this time the monthly dues would resume and full privileges given.
4. Expulsion. Any member my be expelled from membership in the Club for conduct contrary to the best interests of the Club or for nonpayment of dues and other indebtedness to the Club, as provided in Article III of these Rules and Regulations.
 
III
Initiation Fees, Dues and Assessments
A. Initiation Fees. Initiation fees for the various memberships shall be paid upon submission of application for membership in the amounts set, from time to time, by the Club.
B. Dues. The dues for Family Members shall be paid on a monthly basis in the amount set by the Club. The dues for Corporate Members shall be paid on a monthly basis by each nominee of the Corporate Membership in the amount set by the Club.

Obligations of Membership and Penalties for Delinquency
A. Privileges of Membership. All Membership shall be entitled to enjoy the privileges and use the facilities of the Club subject to these House Ru les and Regulations as adopted, from time to time, by the Club.
B. Evidence of Membership. Evidence of membership in the Club shall consist of a current membership card. A membership card shall be delivered to each new member upon his/her election to membership and must be presented to properly authorized personnel upon reasonable request. No person shall permit any other person to use his/her membership card. All current membership cards shall be surrendered to the Club upon termination of membership.
C. Liability for Damage to Premises. Each member shall be responsible to the Club for any loss or damage to the Club property caused by the negligence of such member, his/her family, guests, or nominees, or of those for whom the member is responsible.
D. Billing and Unpaid Accounts. The Club will mail monthly statements. All statements are due and payable in full within 10 days of receipt. Any delinquent accounts will be assessed a late charge of 1.5% per month. Should an account or any portion thereof remain unpaid for sixty (60) days, that member will be placed on a cash basis. Should an account or any portion thereof remain unpaid for ninety (90) days, that membership will be terminated unless other arrangements have been made with the Club. Memberships terminated for lack of payment will be turned over to a collection agency and the Credit Bureau. No membership terminated for (i) misconduct or (ii) failure to pay indebtedness to the Club, shall be permitted upon the premises as a visitor or guest.
 
V
Guests
A. Accompanied Guests. All members in good standing may have any person as their accompanied guest; provided, however, the Club may adopt restrictions from time to time relating to accompanied guests. Sponsoring members shall be responsible at all times for the conduct and expenditures of their guests.
B. Unaccompanied Guests. Unaccompanied guests shall not be admitted to or served in Club facilities unless prior arrangements have been made by a sponsoring member. At the request of a sponsoring member a Guest Card will be made available to the non-member. Non-members will not be admitted to the Club without a Guest Card.
C. Cancellations. The Club may cancel the courtesies of a guest of the Club at any time without notice. The Club shall be the sole judge of what constitutes sufficient cause for such cancellation.
 
VI
Suspension or Expulsion of Members
The Club shall have the power to suspend or expel any member for violation of the Club Rules and Regulations or for conduct it deems improper or prejudicial to the Club.
 
VII
Amendments and Effective Dates
A. Amendments. These House Rules and Regulations may be amended or repealed at any time by the Club.

Operations
A. Hours of operation and Dress Code.
Dining Rooms Hours:
    Tuesday-Thursday
           Lunch 11:30-2:00p.m.
           Dinner 6:00-9:00p.m.
    Friday-Saturday
           Lunch 11:30-2:00p.m.
           Dinner 6:00-10:00p.m.
    Sunday – Seasonal
           The Pool (available seasonally)
Dress Code:
    Lunch in the entire club:
           Casual Attire
    Dinner:
           A coat is required of gentlemen in the Dining Room and ladies should dress accordingly.
    The Galley Bar Area:
           Casual Attire at all times

B. Reciprocities. Membership in The Yacht Club also entitles you to use Clubs with which we have a reciprocity agreement. These Clubs are listed in the Appendix.

To use the Clubs facilities, please call ahead for reservations and obtain a Guest Card from their offices. They will let you know how payment is taken at that time.

C. Swimming Facilities. The hours are from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. The pool is closed on Mondays. Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Food and bar services are available. No food or drink may be brought on the premises. No alcoholic beverages can be brought in according to T.A.B.C. rules. Proper attire is required. No shorts or cut-offs are allowed in the pool.

Members are expected to maintain active supervision of their children at all times. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an individual 16 years of age or older in the pool or whirlpool. Lifeguards are instructed to expel all unsupervised children from the pool area. Members and their guests must register in the book provided for that purpose.

Locker rooms are provided for member's convenience adjacent to both the pool and tennis area. The Club shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to the property kept or stored on Club premises by members and their guests.

D. Tennis Court. The hours are from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. (earlier by appointment). Thoughtfulness and courtesy are traditional elements of tennis. Players must wear appropriate tennis clothing and tennis shoes.
